A NEW YEAR MEANS A NEW GROUP OF INTERNS!
Thanks to our exclusive learning partner, La Trobe University, these students will help us bring you the festival in 2018. We had a blast meeting these guys over the weekend and wanted to introduce you to them.
Melanie is a third-year media and communications students, majoring in public relations, at La Trobe University. Mel consults with the La Trobe Agency and is the Media and Communications Coordinator for LTU’s JMAC Society. Mel grew up in the Hunter Valley, has a creative interest in photography and is a firm believer that dessert is the most important meal of the day.
Stephanie Kentepozidis is a La Trobe student studying a Bachelor of Media and Communications, majoring in journalism. She has a degree in fashion design and technology from RMIT. Currently, she works with La Trobe as a Digital Student Ambassador and as a Cerebral Palsy Support Worker. Stephanie has a passion for writing content and discovering stories.
Rebecca Chapman is a third year Media and Communications student at La Trobe University, majoring in Public Relations. She has recently returned from a semester abroad in Leicester, England and traveling Europe, but is excited to get back into reality. In her free time you’ll find her watching Spanish movies and web series, wrapping burritos part time or getting lost in YouTube. Rebecca hopes to one-day work in public relations and communication for the AFLW and bring it to the same level as the men’s league.
Bridget Ilievski is currently in her third year of Bachelor of Media and Communications, majoring in Media Industries at La Trobe University. Bridget has a passion for film making, especially editing and hopes to work in the industry in the future. In fact she loves watching movies and TV shows endlessly, with an emphasis on short lived 90s sitcoms. Bridget is a cheerleader at the University and in her spare time you can find her practising her routine, listening to music and looking at cute puppies on Instagram. She loves lame jokes but is not funny.
Callum Missen is a third-year Media & Communications student majoring in Media Industries. Callum worked as part of La Trobe Live for a full year. Both as a producer as well as hosting his own satire segment A Current La Trobe Affair. When Callum isn’t satirising the news, he is usually watching film, satire news, or a Louis Theroux Documentary and sometimes, actual news. Recently in an interview with one of his friends, he was described as a “piece of salad”. He has yet to respond to these allegations.
Daniel Cubias is a third year student at La Trobe University completing a Bachelor of Media and Communications. In 2017 he was a part of La Trobe Live’s The Eagle Report as the team’s vison switcher as well as a content producer. Daniel goal is to learn every skill he can in order to further his love of storytelling. A love which lead Daniel to become a master of nerd culture, games, movies, T.V shows, cartoons, anime even books and podcasts he’ll talk about it all (like seriously sometimes he needs to learn to shut it).
Jacob Joyberry, First of His Name, Warden of Bendigo, Lord of Cats is studying his final year of his Bachelor of Communications with a journalism major. Jacob has worked with La Trobe live for 3 semesters in positions such as host, journalist, and entertainment content producer. In his down time Jacob likes to walk his cat (yes outside, on a lead, it’s amazing) and trying his best to win at video games.
James Wallace is a third-year Media and Communications student at La Trobe University majoring in Public Relations. This year, he is a communications intern for the Melbourne Webfest. In his free time, you’ll either find him at his computer playing games, or, in the summer, playing cricket for the Plenty Valley Cricket Club, where he is a wicket keeper.
Jasmine Kortel is currently in her final year studying Bachelor of Creating Arts, majoring in Screen, Sound and Performance. Having previously volunteered SYN Media and Channel 31, Jasmine has been involved with studio and on location shoots. She especially enjoys video editing, camera operation and photography.
Kelsey is an experienced video editor with a passion for all things production. Since the age of 4, she has been working in theaters but it was when she started at La Trobe University she discovered her love of video production. Kelsey’s work has previously been published on Magnify Melbourne and she is very excited to be an AV intern with Melbourne WebFest.
Madeleine Mamatis is a third-year Media and Communications student at La Trobe University majoring in Media Industries. As of 2018, she is an AV intern for the Melbourne Webfest. In her spare time, you can find her watching YouTube videos and TV series or dancing the night away with friends.
Media and Communications gal, specialising in Media Industries. Well versed in video production and consumption. Volunteers her Social Media skills to the Cancer Council on occasion and can be commonly found stalking the streets of Melbourne, searching for the perfect smoked salmon bagel. She has yet to prevail. Please forward good bagel locations.
Tyler Harford is studying his final year in a Bachelor of Media and Communication, majoring in public relations. Along with a diploma of Entertainment Management, Tyler is keen to delve into the publicity side of the creative industries, particularly music, and thinks that Spotify is hands down the greatest thing ever handed down to mankind. Favourite past times include attending live gigs, reading cool biographies and being an audience to the graceful coffee brown waterfall that is a boiling percolator.
